Just finished another etched tanto in CPM 154, single bevel, chisel ground. The primary grind line has moves up then down by the grinding in of the swedge.
Tried to make a camo type etching by laying down masking tape on the blade in a random pattern. Then etching the whole blade about 15 minutes then removing the masking tape and etching another 10 minutes. I then neutralized and dried it and rubbed it with fine steel wool. I got a different look than I was anticipating. The area were the masking tape was now has a slight relief look to it. The color of the etch is roughly uniform. You only see the random pattern if you look at an angle see last picture.

Black/Tan/Green G10 scales screwed with standoffs and epoxied.
OAL 8.25
Blade 3.75

will make coyote tan boltaron sheath.100_1277.jpg100_1276.jpg100_1275.jpg100_1274.jpg
