I use CPM154 but have no experience with CPMS35VN. How does the S35 grind compared to 154? How about finishing, harder or about the same? Thanks

A little harder to grind and finish than 154.
Much easier than S30.
I just finished my first 15 blades in S35 a couple of days ago.
I Like it.

I like it too. It hand finishes well and grinds pretty easy. Much easier than
S30V and 3V. Holds a good edge too. Get some. I am using it instead of CPM 154.

Thanks for the info fellas. I noticed that the price for the 35VN is cheaper from Niagara than the 154 is, at least if I understood the price correctlyl.

I find it much harder to take to a fine finish than 154, which is pretty much the easiest stainless I've worked with. 35 still has those stubborn scratches that most high V steels seem to have. It does hold a really sharp edge...currently one of my faves for kitchen knives.

Well, I am going to experiment with it with 4-5 blades after I get through with what I am working on now.
