Dagger trouble

Hey guys
Need some advice from the more experienced of the dogs...

I have tried 3 times now to make a hollow ground "BIg Bear" style and I keep having the same problem...my grind seems to wonder all over the place

any advice you can think of would be great

OR

Should I just stick to flat grinding till I can fab a tool rest?

Are you grinding before or after your heat treatment? I find it easier to keep things nice and crisp afterwards. Also, what grit are you approaching the peak of the double hollow grind with? I find it a lot better to stay a distance back from my final grind with the heavier belts and finally inch right up on it with a slightly worn 45 micron belt. As a side note, the link in your sig appears to be broken.
