now for something completely different. this is a kwaiken made from weathered 5160 with a very unique etch pattern on the blade. it is just under 9" long with a 4" blade. handle is flat black wrap over white deer leather. complete with a "menuki" if you can call it that. it is a little decorative that i put to good use.

thanks. i was actually going for a flame look with that etch. the nephew was watching some cartoon and one character had a flaming sword. gave me the idea. the menuki was actually a woman's bracelet. a little costume jewelry piece and i scavenged it for parts.

i appreciate that. this is heading out to a member on another forum soon. it is fun doing wild variations on a theme.
