Digs Fossils-n-Knives - Reverse Tanto Tip Bowie with Brass Wool Scales

I tried my hand at making my own scales with resin. What do you think? Thanks for your input.

CPM 3V, Rc 60-61, 0.18″ thick, 4 7/8″ cutting edge, 9.5″ long. My fallout finish with a light gold wash, and resin scales made by me (calling it Blondie). Japanese samurai sword inspired pattern on the cutting edge (sorta). The leather sheath was made by a friend of mine.

You can see this knife and my other work on YouTube "Digs Fossils-n-Knives"

Nice work Digs...very original design with a 'pre-history' look. I really like your resin and it is nothing short of very impressive and original work- curious what gives it the 'gold wash' look in the mix.

Thanks for commenting. The "gold wash" term is the finish on the blade which does not show up well (does not show up at all) in these photos. the scales were made by dipping brass wool in clear resin. Luckily the brass wool does not poke through the resin like other metals do in layered carbon fiber scales.
