Elk Ivory

I have had a request to make a knife (potentially followed by several more) with elk ivory inlayed in the handle. Has anyone ever done this? I'm not wanting to go into this project blind.

The way I did it was to inlay on opposite side of scales. Right handed put it on left side so you didn't have uncomfortable lump in it.
i hollowed the outline of the tooth with a Dremel and clear epoxied it in place. It actually felt pretty good with a place for the fingers to wrap around.
