Even Milk Bones Aren't Safe For Our Dogs!

 Since I found out that dog treats made in China are killing our pets, I've been checking labels. Many say "distributed by" a company in the U.S but in small print somewhere, usually near the bar code, they say "Made in China". Never, did I think to check out so called "trusted brands" like Milk Bones. Yesterday, I look at a box and I can't find where Milk Bones are made, only a distributor address. So, I look on the computer and this is what I found. Very Disturbing to say the least.

Milk Bones and Beggin Strips are the top 2 selling dog treats and they contain chemical preservatives known to cause things like: cancer, liver and kidney problems, weakness, loss of consciousness, brain damage, and life-threatening asthma. :what!:

Milk-Bones owned by (Del Monte), contains Embalming Fluid. :46: Sodium Metabisulfite (the preservative in Milk-Bones) is harmful if ingested or inhaled (as in sniffed). It reacts with WATER and acids (like those in your dog’s stomach) to release toxic sulfur dioxide gas. It can cause life-threatening asthmatic reactions after ingestion as well as gastrointestinal, circulatory and central nervous system problems. The people whohandle this stuff are required to wear hazmat suits and respirators.
Beggin Strips (Purina), contain Jet Fuels.

Cathy,
Hello and thanks for the heads up on this with those brands. I avoid anything made in china as much as possible and all foodstuffs for my wife and I or our pets.
