First friction folder

J. Hoover

KNIFE MAKER
Actually this is the first folder of any type I have made. I had some 1/8 O1 laying around the shop that was to short for a fixed blade so I said what the heck let's try a folder.
Did some research on fritions folders then sat down to draw up a design. This is what I ended up with. I am pleased although I can see where this folder thing could be addictive!!
Blade is just under 3 inches in length, scales are G10.

Thanks for comments fellows, I've already drawn up a design for a frame lock that I'm going to work on.
The pictures here were quickly done and not great. The knife looks better than the pics indicate. The blade operates smoothly, is tight with no side to side play and the point is centered when closed. As you can see or maybe not, the blade flats were left black after the heat treat for contrast.
The G10 kind of looks like a skeleton to me so I'm naming this one Skeletoid Jr.
