First knife with new grinder: why did I wait so long?

Here is the latest version of my Smithwick hunter, made for a guy on my van pool. It's 3/32" CPM154CM with 416 hardware and stabilized spalted maple from Rob at Bad Dogs Burl Source. I finally got a 2X72 (Bader B2) that runs about half the speed of my previous machine. It still isn't variable speed (yet) but is such a huge improvement over the Craftsman 2x42. After about 100 blades with the Craftsman, it was time.

OAL: 7.5" or so
Blade: About 3"

Also, I got a new website. Not all of the knives that will be up there are there yet, and some still need text, but some of my best work is up. Check it out.

The new site is looking GREAT also ! Your gal is a real ACE with the web-stuff huh ?

I especially like your FAQ's Short and to the point but very informative as to what it is you do and how you do it.

I do have two words for ya though.... SHOP TOUR ! :) Thats my favorite part of makers sites and your average Joe off the street seem amazed at the tools and gadgets in a knifemakers shop also. Just a suggestion of course ;)

Shop tour...hmmm. I like it. I'll see what I can come up with over the next few weeks. That would be a good start to the R&D/blog section.

The wife is a real winner, and I'm really proud of her. She's entirely self taught too, which in my mind makes her even more awesome. Today happens to be our anniversary. It's been a great 8 years, spanning 1 child, 2 continents, and 3 careers. And 2 dogs.

Very good looking knife Travis. Well done and I am glad you like your new grinder, when you go variable speed you will realllllllllly like it.
