Nice hamon, Bubba. But, How do you like how it cuts? If I was ever to use this steel again (which, by the way, you would not believe the high price I paid for it) I would treat it just like 1095, except with a longer soak because of the alloys. Because of the alleged .86 C, I was treating it like 1084.

after I hardened and tempered it , seems to cut and hold a good edge . It did seem now that I think about it , was very hard to sharpen ! probably because of the alloying elements . elementally it is nothing like what I was getting before according to the lab reprt ?. normally W-2 is very easy to work. it was a water / brine quench .
