Forged 22" Machete

I was asked to turn a hydraulic ram into a machete. I told him I didn't know what kind os steel it is. Either 4140 or 1070? It hardened up good so it should be fine. The handle is rubber.

I didn't weigh it but it's 5/16 thick all the way to the last inch.

Great job on machete Dave. Need to know for how long did you temper in oven, if it fit being a big blade. Reason I ask I do have leaf springs from old car and would appreciate you info.steps on making this nice machete. Thanks for the nice pics of a well made big blade. Rey
