Forged Blade Finished

KNIFE MAKER
Put the finishing touches today on the forged blade. 10-3/4 OAL with a 5-3/4" blade. Coffee sack burlap micarta (I think they left the colored stenciling on when they made it), brass pins and lanyard loop. This steel took a wicked, wicked edge.
I shaped the handle with palm swells. I sanded the burlap micarta to 220 grit, then went back and roughed up the finish with 120 grit to give it some texture. I put Danish oil on the scales.
I most likely will make a leather dangler sheath for it.

Good looking knife,if I may make a suggestion go a little lighter with the hammer in the handle,it also helps to use a flattening hammer to smooth it out. Another option is to taper the tang.

Thank you! I admit, it does look like I was heavy handed :). I need to go for more finesse next time. I'll have to look into getting a flattening hammer.
