Gut Hook question

For those that make gut hooks how thin do you make your gut hook edge before HT? Dime thickness like normal edge or do you file it thinner?

I've done them from one extreme to the other. I did some that were completely sharp and some that were hardened without grinding anything. I've had no problems either way. All of them that I do now are ground after heat treat simply because I do all grinding after heat treating.
