I'm pretty sure you've all seen this in one fashion or another, but here's a handle clamp that I've made for making stacked leather or other multi-part handles.
It's just some 3/16 inch mild steel I had laying around. I bought the 1/2 inch threaded rod and the washers and nuts at the hardware store last week. My dad, a machinist, was kind enough to mill a 3/8 inch slot between the holes for me. I may have to re-do the flat portions, since the rod holes are slightly off. Not sure if that would greatly affect the outcome, once everything is tightened.
I probably should have let him handle the drilling as well as the milling, as I'm sure everything would have aligned about perfectly. Unfortunately, I don't have those kinds of skills!
