New guy here, just starting to get my feet wet in knifemaking. Made a few kit knifes and liked it!

Just ordered a 2 hp, 12" Pheer 454, and if I crap out at knifemaking I've been welding and fabricating for most of my life so the grinder will still be put to good use.

Nice forum you have here. I've browsed it a bit and know I have much to learn!
 
I'm a fellow new guy, welcome! I've yet to complete knife (5 in progress) but a lot of people on here have been very helpful and willing to share experience.
 
Hey Top, how ye be? My late brother was a Top for awhile, he loved his job, the respect he garnered from his troops would make you teary eyed!

I've acquired some steel so far, about 2' each of d2, 52100 and 440c, all are 1.5" by about .1", just waiting on a grinder! Have about a 3-4 week wait on my grinder. If the 'making' of the knives go well I'll be looking to buy a heat treat oven next I reckon!
