how do you set a detent ball?

hi everyone, soon i will be going all in on making my first liner lock folder. i understand how i should do everything except for setting the detent ball. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
 
I use a micrometer to press the ball into place and measure the position of the ball at the same time.

I use the micrometer as George does . after tapping in place with small hammer & nail set to hold detent ball in place .

so you just pressure fit it into the drilled hole? i feel like it would just end up falling out, is there anything else you have to do?
 
Use a #53 drill bit for the hole on a 1/16" detent ball.It is a press fit and it will hold in place.

what size bit should i use for a 3/32" detent ball? thats the size i bought
