I've seen a few definitions posted lately and thought I would post one myself. I got this from Wiktionary if anybody wants to check it out for themselves.

Hype-noun, (plural hypes)
1. Promotion or propaganda; especially, exaggerated claims.

example; After all the hype for the diet plan, only the results ended up slim.
