I guess I can Heat treat or grind but not both at the same time

I have this issue myself. I try to set aside a drilling project or some hand-finishing for when I am HT'ing, something that dosen't require too much juice and is easy to walk away from and come back to.

Well I succesfully melted 1 leg of 110v to my house, We had no 220v the power company guy said the legs of 110 going to our house was way too small for a house as big as mine, of course I left out the fact that I was running in the house an upstairs a/c unit and downstairs a/c unit , the a/c unit in my shop, the 110 heat treat oven, my grinder with flat platen grinding pretty hard and probably a few t.v's and a p/c running, good news is he said it was not my fault and that they were gonna run a bigger wire to the house I'm gonna have to have 220 added to the shop and run my grinder and oven of of 220 a lot less stress on the power.
good news is its temporarly fixed they are running the new wire tommorow

A.W. we are brothers under the skin.Run everything possible till something melts.Ilike it.

I feel your pain, brother. There are times when I fire up the grinder and dim the lights in the house. My problem is that my shop (garage) is on the same breaker with the front room of my house. Back when we used that for my son's room it was particularly bad because, of course, he would have the tv, lights, and his computer all running at the same time I was in the shop.

Eventually I'll add another breaker or two to my main panel and install a subpanel in the shop for my equipment. All I need is money I don't have!
