Important Safety tip:

Yeah, I will change my procedure for sure. Amazingly the sheath did not get blood on it, I checked. I had been using the flat part of my needle nose to push through but it slipped once so I switched to scrap leather to be safer...Good call.
 
Just last weekend, I stuck my thumb into a cut off wheel on an angle grinder. After cleaning and bandaging it up, I put the guard back on the grinder. Then, 3 days later, as I'm sewing up a sheath, I stuck a needle into the cut. It sucks trying to finish up a bunch of Christmas orders with a sore thumb.
 
You guys are making me a bit afraid to go back to my shop, lol. Over the years I have had a thumb and little finger put back together by an orthopedic surgeon on two occasions. Bet you can't guess which revolving piece of equipment I was using. And, yes, the buffer is a dangerous tool.
