Is this a decent vise????

Anyone know anything about this vise? I have the opportunity to pick this one up for around $100.

Lowes sells a very similar vise that's very heavy duty for about $60. Of course, they have several other models for a bit less as well. I'd check harbor Freight, Lowes, and/or Home Depot befor I commited to buying this one.

It depends on what you to do with it. If it's just to hold a piece of work as you file or sand it then that vice should work fine. If it is to forge on you will distroy it. If you need a vice to forge with then you want a leg vice where the force of the hammer blows will be transmitted around the screw.

Little overpriced. Offer him $50.00 for both, they are used $25.00 a piece is far price. I would save my pennies buy the the 3'' vise for $19.99. I have used mine for 2 years. It more than big enough. I have not once wished I had a bigger vise. I have a even smaller one that I use even more.

Parkers are great. I've got a 4" non-swivel I inherited - it's my favorite vise. They're built to last forever.
