Kids and grand kids and it!

My wife and I keep my two grandsons when my daughter and her husband are working. The youngest one just turned two and the other one turns four in July! The oldest one is in pre-K this year. My daughter is a nurse in the children's unit at a local hospital and her husband works for a company the does maintenance on all the machines for that hospital as well as several others in the area.

Today was supposed to be Pawpaw's day off, so he was being lazy and sleeping in a little!:what!:

My daughter called just before seven this morning and the conversation goes something like this.

Daughter:
Dad can you come get the kids. I have been up all night with Mike (her husband), who was sick with it and it was coming out both ends. Then just before daylight, I started with it! Can you please come get the kids and watch them for a while!

Eerie silence, as I was not believing what I was hearing, you got it and you want me too come around it!:what!::34:

Dad:
Sure it will take me a few because I am just getting up!
(Then I go to get in my Blazer and the battery is dead, was this an OMEN, let us hope not)! Thirty minutes later I finally get it jumped off and I am heading toward's my daughters house and my cell rings!

Daughter:
Dad are you coming too get the kids?

Dad: :8:
Yes sweetheart I had car trouble but I am on my way now! Can I bring you something for it, you know pepto-bismol, seven up, gatoraide, anything!

Daughter:
No, can you just make me stop throwing up?

Dad:
Sorry sweetheart I can't help on that one but, I am on my way.

I arrive at my daughter's house and both her and her husband look like death warmed over. I apoligize for taking so long getting there and I hope they get over it and get too feeling better! I kind of felt like I needed to do a Voodo ritual at the doorstep to keep it from coming with me and the boys! I kept watching in the rear view mirror as I drove away and I did not see it following me as I drove away! I am hoping I was too fast for it but can't help but wonder where it was hiding!

Did I mention that I am still getting over the cold and sinus infection that my two grand boys shared with me from two weeks ago. The oldest one got it from school I am sure and then shared it with his brother and then they both proceeded to share it with my wife and myself!

So I am back at my house with the grand boys and now I am praying that my wife and I both don't come with it!

You know I love my kids and grand kids I just wish they would quit sharing all their stuff. It's been a long time since I had to sit on the toilet with a trash can between my knee's because of it!

So I am going to say a prayer now, Lord please don't let me catch it.................Amen

Let us hope the good Lord is smiling today!

IT should be a 4 letter word, hope you ran fast enuf, but let me guess the blazer only has a 4.0 or a 4.3 v-6 your screwed!!!!!
But hopefully you made it good luck, hope the kids feel better quick.

franklin, its a 95 with the 4.3 V6 and 110,000 on it. Just had to put a power steering pump on the beast the other day, ( you know you can't buy anything that lasts anymore). I recharged the AC while I was doing the power steering pump, and now I think it's gonna need a battery or alternator! That ought to put in line for at least another 50-60,000!

So far I have avoided it all though I haven't felt great all day. I think it's just the leftover from the sinus infection the boys gave me the other day. You know drainage down the back of the throat and all the headache you can stand!

I just hope the boys don't come down with it, as that is bad enough when adult gets it but when kids get it, it is usually rough on carpets, beds clothes, etc., etc.! They are going to have a sleep over at Pop and Mimi's house tonight to give mom and dad a little more time too get well! Actually, truth be told, I am afraid to go back to my daughter's cause I know it is hiding behind the door waiting to ambush me.

My son just called and he sounds like he may have it. So far his wife and son do not have it!

I don't know who they have all come in contact with but I told him not to worry about "Father's Day tomorrow"! I told them the best present they could give me for "Fathers Day" is not to bring me it!

Lord it's me again please don't let me catch it or it catch me,......... you know tomorrow it "Father's Day".........Amen

"It" Is no fun at all!
I married my beautiful wife almost two years ago and she teaches Kinder-garden.

We lovingly refer to the 30 something kids as, How were the "little Monsters" today honey? The little monsters are also "IT" Carriers! I was sick most of the first year we were married! Mostly colds and flu but I did get a case of "it"

Stay safe and I wish you well! You ether got it or you didn't! No vehicle can out run "IT"

SO true, about out running it! I carried the boys back home this morning and my daughter wished me a "Happy Father's Day". To which I said thank you and I hope you'll understand if I don't hug you!:what!:

She said she did. Both her and her husband look like they went the full 15 rounds with it and I think it won. She said she was able to keep some gatoraide down this morning. She has lost 6 pounds since Friday, (she is one of these people that weighs herself all the time)! She said I have bleached everything she could think of that her and her husband had come in contact with, so I hope the boys are clear of it.

Me too cause I got to keep them Monday! So now I am going to go incognito in hopes of avoiding it !

I have tried to treat this thread as tongue in cheek humor because, if you have ever had it you know all you can do is laugh..................later..........much later!

The best protective system I know to avoid all Germs etc...

Wash your hands five times a day and never touch or rub your eye's, Nose or mouth.
I worked in a Gun store for a few and now own my own Cutlery & Sharpening store, shaking hands, Picking up items that others have handled is a great way to transmit "IT" Since my wife works with the kids it is hard not to be in close contact.
