Lathe work today

Had a friend want one of my Scribe tools, SO I made 5 and gave him pick of the litter.
These are the ones leftover, thought I would share with you guys to show what I do with broken 1/8 drill bits and carbide cutters.

The first one I ever made I reamed them .124 and hammerd the scribe into a 2x4 wood block for a press fit.
But now I just drill a .125 hole and use one drop of crazy glue to hold bit in. I figure with a little heat I could probably easily break the glue bond and get it out if necessary.

I almost as if Epoxy, but crazy glue is easy, and a scribe doesn't require much strength to hold.... as you say, a little heat allows changing scribes if needed.

Thanks - I might make one of those soon. I got a new lathe and have been surprised how often I have used it in the last 3 wks I've had it.

Lathes are alot of fun and making something like this can help figure it out and realize what accessories you are missing.
And lets face it, brass is just a blast to turn. So easy on your tools.
Post pics if you make one.
