Here is the design for Greg Rice. These are Japanese style knives . They are a set because that's the way they are used. Coupla surprises
Planned for this one!1084 steel for both, santoku is .120 thick X 10.5 oal. Petty is .070 thick X 8 oal. Hidden tang (new to me ). Handle material native wood to Northern CA.
Already making changes. Santoku is now starting @ .100 thick.

Oh I knew that - jeeze - how have you guys put up with this rusty california hillbilly for so long?

We ever meet up and I am gonna fix you some of the meanest pulled pork slow cooked over apple wood for 20 hours using extruded coconut charcoal that I import from Indonesia that you have ever tasted - we drink beer that entire 20 hours too if ya can hang... This is gonna be fun fun fun

View out any window is eithe ridge or forest. We live in the middle (8 million acres) of the Klamath National forest. Pretty slick. But ya gotta love solitude, not be particularly fond of other people, and be relatively self sufficient.
Come on over , you can make dinner with our own beef, or cabron, or chickens, or venison or elk or bear.
