Here is a few pics of the making of what has come to be called the "mighty Oak"
This was a request from a customer who wanted to have a hard use knife to take the place of an axe, yet have other uses as well.

This machete is 1/4" 1080 18" cutting edge. Two handed handle, and 27 1/2" OAL
I will skip boring you with all the details, and just give you a few pictures of the process.

After heat treating, I etched it overnight with vinegar. I call the finish "restored antique"

I did rather enjoy testing this one out.

The handles are Cross-cut micarta, and black canvas micarta.

This turned out to be a major job, I don't see doing another any time soon.

That thing is awesome! I looks like a parang aka philipino multitool haha. that thing looks great.

What part of MS are your from? I live in the Jackson area.
