A friend of mine wanted a different handle for his Morakniv classic, he didn't like red, and wanted a bit more length. Having never done anything but full tang knives, I decided to use a scrap block of Oak to test out the methods. I had then planned on cutting the Oak off and doing it over with a block of spalted maple.
So, all went well and before i knew it I had the handle shaped, totally forgetting about the block of spalted maple I had planned on using after i cut the oak back off. So I burned the handle with a propane torch.... alot. (after all this knife would be less than $15 to replace)
Then i dry sanded it up to 2000grit, and used the CA glue finish.(another first for me)
Anyways, here it is.
My friend loved it.
