Still working on 200. And a few more projects. Like this one. My oldest son asked me to help him on a Christmas gift idea. So we came up with a design. He helped me with the design, handles, pins and sheaths. Some of his friends should be happy.

Some nice walnut handles.

Nicely shaped little knife. 6 inches overall.

Don’t forget the sheath.

Perhaps sheaths.

Lots of sheaths. 12 total. He gave one away before this picture.

We tried to make them all a bit different. Some brass pins, some silver pins, some dark braiding, some medium braiding, some light braiding.

I enjoyed the time with my son and we both learned something.

It has been almost a year since my last post on this thread. The reason is that I have not finished a knife/sheath. Life has been busy. But, today I end the streak. First knife of 2025.

A hunter made from 1075, brass bolster and pins, g10 spacer, walnut handle, and medium brown braided sheath. Enjoy!

I have been lazy making knives. Really lazy. But, knife no. 1 for 2026. A bull cutter made from a farriers rasp. A family member requested it and I will get it delivered today. Off to a good start...

Knife No. 2 for 2026 is a charity knife. It will be auctioned off at the end of April for a volunteer fire department in my area.

440C stainless blade, grooved brass guard, sambar stag handle, red mallee burl butt cap, brass pins and mosaic pin. Handtooled basketweave patterned sheath with edge braiding.

It feels good getting back into the saddle. Maybe 2026 will be a special knife making year.
