These are my first 2 ever and they have gotten my brain into overdrive with ideas and wanting to learn more and more!
Materials might not be the greatest for knives, but I wanted to learn what what I already had, before spending more $$$ on metal.
I am learning leatherwork at the same time, and made both sheaths 100% on my own as well.
#1 Skinner
steel from walmart machete
scales are red oak ( i know its WAY porous)
pins are 1/8" steel rod
stained with automotive red candy color, reduced 50% for drying
#2 Utility
Cheap Stainless from a really thick BBQ fork
Scales are same red oak
Same pins
stained with Minwax Dark Walnut on scales and sheath
