Need Help with Hardness Testers

Ok everyone,

I'm going to pull the trigger on a hardness tester but wanted to touch bases with everyone to get a few opinions from the experts. I posted many months ago and a few people directed me towards to Enco import machine for $966.00. It sounds as if several people have this machine and are liking it as its usually referenced here when someone is talking hardness tester. here is the link - http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INPDFF?PMPAGE=403&PMITEM=505-1897

Here's my dilemma;
I found this one at Grizzly tool for $750.00 !! http://www.grizzly.com/products/Hardness-Tester/G9645

Questions;
Is this this the same machine???? It appears to be. :les:
Does anyone here have one from Grizzly and if yes are you satisfied with it???

HELP!!! PLEASE>> :confused2: :confused2:

I'm 99%+ sure that's the same machine as sold by Grizzly. It "seems" there is one manuf of those Chinese hardness testers and they're branded with each vendor's name. I've been using the Grizzly tester for a yr or so now and it seems to be just fine. The results are repeatable, and you can calibrate the tester using the included tester blocks. As usual, I jumped the gun and purchased from Grizzly about 6 months before they dropped the price from $900 or so. Seems like it was a about $1K shipped.

I think you'll be very happy with the tester. It's nice checking to see just what the Rc is, rather than "a file skates" type of test.
