A new addition to the family. Can’t wait to take it out to the range. M1 Garand in 30-06. Was actually able to find some reasonably priced ammo too.

Oooh, I love that rifle, wish I had one. At Ft Ord basic training i was able to shoot expert level, could hit man size popups at 300yds open sights.
Loved the clink of the clip ejection, though the sound was hated in combat.

That's a nice looking one there Tim, I have a 1955 Springfield that a friend bought thru the DCM and sold it to me about 30 years ago. it's a tack driver, I plan on knocking down a deer with it one of these days, maybe this hunting season.
every time my father would visit he'd ask to see it, that's what he carried in Europe in WW2.
I have a brother that lives up your way in Ridley Park, he just bought a 1945 Springfield last month.
