The ERU sharpener has been a work in progress, based on a sound basic idea. We have made numerous changes to the package over the last two years.
This kit is for the person that likes using stones or diamond plates, but is not satisfied with the results they are getting totally free hand. With the addition of the ERU kit the user can produce stunning Flat edges at inclusive angles from 16 to 40 degrees. Nothing else is needed other than your own stones or diamond plate.
The package contains the ERU in a hand stitched leather sheath an alignment pin, a full set of accurate, water proof, degree wedges to control the angle on the stone or plate, a precision 30 degree aluminum wedge that is used to calibrate the sharpener and a dual sided strop with leather on one side and balsa on the other.
This sharpening technique is both accurate and extremely fast. No more two hour sharpening sessions. For me it takes an average of no more than ten minutes to go from dead dull to shaving sharp. The kit comes with a full instruction sheet in text as well as a video to show good technique.
