I'm brand new to this forum and relatively new to knife making... I basically started just over a year ago with very basic stock removal and got into forging shortly after. I've been lucky to have a lot of great jobs and travel experiences but knife making (eventually swords?) has been the best thing I've ever gotten into.
So I thought I would share some pictures of some things I've been working on lately.
From an old file found with metal detector:
With mokume I made from 1084 powder and copper braid:
With copper braid peened through the tang:
Wrapped eye hawk.. wrought iron and 1084 bit:
Viking/Saxon era seax made from shear steel that I made at Ric Furrer's Shear Madness workshop (and available for purchase!):
And one I just finished... a wrought iron/nickel/1080 dagger with copper habaki and wooden scabbard.
Thanks for looking!
