New knife I just finished

I lurk a lot, seldom post, but I was so pleased with this recent effort that I just had to...
Ladder damascus with box elder burl scales. Quite some time ago I had a piece of scrap brass about 3/4 x 1-1/2 that I distressed with a ball peen and turned into a key fob. I've been wondering for quite some time how that would look on a brass bolster, so I decided to give it a go. I was very pleased that it turned out almost exactly like I'd envisioned.

If there is anything I'd do differently, it would be to shrink the filework by about half. I think it's bigger than I prefer, but it still works well on the blade.

I like it and I love the bolster. I too made one with copper peened bolsters with elk antler scales. Take a peak if you have a chance.. Nice job all around..

I agree with you about the file work, and would consider a little more contrast for the bolster. Since it is hammered, a chemical dip to darken the valleys, and a little buffing to bring up the highlights, may be a nice addition. Just a suggestion...

Very nice job on that all around- the bolster and wood together have a rich look and it's a smart design- well done.
