new stabilizing vessel

Just finished setting up my new "bigger" vessel for stabilizing wood. This vessel will hold about 125 blocks of wood for knife handles. The old one will only hold 25-30. I will be able to stabilized more wood now in same amount of time. Only trouble with the vessel this big is that it holds more than $1000.00 worth of juice.

Holly Cow , thats some serious iron there , are those 600# flanges. How much vacuum do you pull on the vessel ?

Nice job.

Those flanges are 150 lb. I pull as much vacuum as possible here, which is about 27.5". Once I'm done pulling vacuum(approx 1-2 weeks) I will hit it with about 400-500lbs of pressure for 1-2 weeks as well. (just to make sure the juice is completely through the wood). The engineers from the place I buy my juice thinks I'm really overdoing the vacuum/pressure. I would rather overdue it and be sure than have 1 bad batch. I was also informed that the juice is going up in price starting feb 1/2011 so I am going to have to order more as this vessel holds lots of it.

Wow! Now that is my kind of shop equipment! No messing around with paint pots!
