Old Dog, new trick

Its been awhile since my last post. Been trying to come up with some new ideas. I'd get going on something and then just lose interest. This is the first knife I've completed in a month or so. My hand and wrist told me I need to take a different approach other than hand forging so this piece is 100% stock removal. The blade is saw steel that Chuck Brooks had sent me to try out. So far so good with the steel. The blade is 3", used bronze for the fittings, bog oak and osic with birch bark spacers for the handle. Overall its 7". The photo back ground is the same bog oak that was used for the handle.

Hi Ray, I think that looks very nice with excellent contrast in colors. Is that back spacer attached to the tang somehow? I have some saw steel i am going to play with soon also.

Yes, the tang goes all the way through the handle. Here's a picture from the top that shows the peened tang.

Ray, that turned out good, with that handle looks a real comfortable user profile.

I got the bog oak from Larry who owns Gallery Hardwoods. Pretty sure I got all that he had.

I finished up the other knife. The new one has cocobola and deer antler plus the birch bark spacers. Its a 1/4" longer than the bog oak one.
