Pivot Screws

I have a question for you Gent's , how do you keep your pivot screw's from backing off ?

I make my own bushings and washers, then screw the pivot screws up tight in the liners, which pushes the liners tight against the ends of the bushing. I make the bushings .002" longer than the blade plus two washers.

I drill for a 3/16 with a No14 and use a reamer. The pivots I buy from USA Knifemaker are super well made and fit vas they should, but allow the blade to turn without dragging the pivot around with it. I , like Don, what my screws to bottom. On my final assembly I use a drop of Locktite blue on the screws. Frank

For those that have not seen this, it has been post several times. This is how to stop a screw from moving. Drill as shown on 8-32 screws and it can be done on a 6-32 screw but not any smaller. I use weed eater line. Never has a screw back out. You have to make a drill block that fits your screw threads and drill a hole through the screw using the drill block.

Yes sir, I have. Also can be done to a stop pin.

Hey! Has anyone ever used vibra-tite vc3 on any folder screws? I ran across some on Alpha Knife supply by accident the other day. It is like loc tite but screws can be removed or adjusted up to 6 times I think before it has to be reapplied. I looked at the reviews on amazon and people rave about the stuff. I might order some but just wanted to see if any dogs had any experience with it.
