Retired Maker Tom B@rminski
Last night in the wee hours of the morning the house of retired knife maker Tom B@rminski, my neighbor across the street and mentor, became engulfed in flames and was destroyed. The coroner confirmed his death today. This has come as a great shock and he will be greatly missed by us makers who knew him, and their are many. He made knives for 20 years and retired about 9 years ago as a full time maker. If you ever handled a B@rminski knife you knew it to be very finely crafted especially the D2 mirror finishes he produced. I considered him a friend as he helped me so much when I was getting started, giving me so much free material and advise.
