I just purchased my first belt sander. It is a B111 it has reverse. What would be the use for reverse?

To run the belt the other way!:biggrin:
All kidding aside some like to sharpen on the 2x 72 with the belt going the other direction.
I sharpen on my 2 x 72 but I am fine with the belt coming towards me.
As you design and make your knives I am sure you will find other uses for the reverse switch.

I run my KMG in reverse when using a leather belt. The KMG doesn't track well in reverse when applying pressure (I think that this is characteristic of most 3-wheel grinders to some degree), so it's not much good for grinding that way... but does ok with slow, light pressure on the leather belt.
