rheostat to anodize

Can I use a rheostat to anodize. I have one in a box hooked up to 110 volts. Friend hooked it up to his etcher.It worked well. But can it be used to anodize.

Providing you still convert to DC, probably...

Use a Bridge Rectifier from Radio Shack to convert to DC.

Voltage should be 0-140 and a couple amps.
