A simple seax in san mai... sides are wrought iron, core is 1084, handle is rock maple, sheath fittings are bronze. 6 1/2" blade, 12 3/4" overall length. Very light and fast in the hand.....

I love the blade shape (and the handle is just right). I am also happy to see that you (and by extension, modern knifemakers) are able to whip something like this together and call it simple. It is an elegant weapon and tool, with complex techniques needed to make it, and subtle craftsmanship required to finish it and give the nuanced form. Such a long ways from the seaxs that I saw (and that I made) even 5 years ago. I mean that. The bar for this particular area of our field has gone WAY up. great work.
