Just finished my second knife this morning - Final sanding, a coat of Paste wax and the final polish. I didn't weigh in on the "Hardwood Finish Thread" but I love the look of paste wax on certain woods - Cocobolo being one of them. Plus, with the buffer I can control exactly the amount of gloss I want on the knife. I'm pretty happy with this one but it didn't turn out quite like I envisioned it - the handle is a little more delicate than I wanted it and I'm not sure I like the look of Brass with the Damascus. With regard to the build, I'd give it about a C+, looks , I'd give it a B-. But it's my second knife and I finished it!

I don't know about you guys, but I get such a rush when I finish one - I'm really jacked up, too jacked up to start working on another knife. It kinda helps to come inside and share with you guys what I did. Additionally, starting on a sheath for it seems much better than starting another knife - gives my mind time to relax and calm down for a while. I know that sounds crazy but I really have never gotten a thrill out of making something as much as I do a knife. What fun! Well, here are the pics - let me know what you think.
(The first picture is my first knife).

By the handle being a little more delicate than you wanted it do you mean that it doesn't give you the control that you want because visually it looks fine to me. As far as the brass not fitting with the damascus I think that just a matter of perception, it looks great to me. I wish that my second knife looked anything like that.

You are very kind. What I mean by delicate is appearance not usage. The knife just looked a little frail. I wanted it light and formal looking but I think the handle shoulg be about 1/8" thicker at the point where the wood meets the bolster - but that's just me.
