stag scales without loosing too many fingers :)

Hi everybody,
i did my first slipjoint with stag scales and i have been lucky to have still 10 fingers on my hands.
I will definitely build some jig for the bandsaw for the next one, and i would ask if someone has got some pointer for the jig construction....i need to make scales from roll and i don't need to reinvent any wheel.
I have seen the best is to create 3 scales from one roll, but that add complexity to the cuts since my bandsaw don't have the tilting table.
Any idea?
thank you

Stefano

You could hot glue the roll to a flat/square piece of wood.
Then position the saw fence to cut the scales at the thickness you want.

Leave it to Mark to have such a simple, but elegant solution. I'll try to remember that.

Thank you Mark,
I never used the hot glue, is it difficult to remove from the stag after the cuts?
