I will be forging some straight razor blanks next week in preparation of making my first razor. The largest contact wheel I have is a 2" and I have read where guys have used them to hollow grind the blanks. I cant afford a 4 or 8" contact wheel so I am considering trying the 2" wheel or making a wedge razor. I am told the downside there is that it will need to have more metal removed by honing due to it being flat ground.
Forging the blanks is not an issue but I could really use some guidance as far as using the 2" contact or in how to build a wedge razor. I have watched several youtube vids but none of them use a 2" and they are all hollow grinding them so it still leaves me with a lot of unknowns.
