surface grinder conversion

I had an old tool grinder that was just too slow and took too much cranking to use as a surface grinder. It occurred to me that it might possible to convert to a belt sander type. I gathered up some scrap laying around the shop and found that it was even easier that I imagined. I had to drill some holes insert a few bolts and things were looking very good. I had to buy a custom wheel from Bader bolt it on. It worked first try.

That is cool! Did it have the transverse table already? Or did you add that?

It already had the magnetic chuck and the table. I would like to automate the cranking back and forth but am still trying to figure out how.
