I dunno what your plans are for that maple,. but theres a pretty interesting read here on knife dogs about using various methods to pop that curl. Its in the tutorial section. 2thumbs

I got some "majestic maple" from R. W. Wilson in West Virginia. My plan is to sand until I get the desired finish and then apply the majestic. I plan to rub and burnish with 0000 steel wool and maybe some old denim until I get the desired result. I'm new to this so I will play it by ear. I try to read any and all posts to pick up ideas. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks again.
