you're "trying to work these hidden tang knives out" it looks to me like you've succeeded - i like it !

Thanks. They're not easy for me. I feel like there's a fundamental piece of guard fitting that I must be missing. I don't mind tedium but I feel like the process (once I figure it out) needs to be executable to a known degree of consistency. If that makes sense. This one was better than the last. Hopefully the next is better than this one.

I have been doing a lot of "pattern" development this spring. I'm trying to answer the question of "what kind of knife maker am I?" (Besides not very good.) While I don't really want to pigeon hole myself into any very specific type of construction or purpose, I do want to be able to clearly define what I offer.

Here is what I'm calling a camp-crafter. Just shy of 5" on the cutting edge. Let me know what you think. 38ACDD65-ECFE-44A9-82E5-2B192D4D5EF7.jpeg27FEBF94-E554-4ABF-A6FD-AA1B154D3534.jpeg1F904CEC-30D2-4DDC-B287-9D5068807057.jpeg535CB4F0-052B-430F-94AC-20F675A885E0.jpegBCF0DCA0-1761-41FC-B58A-3DC4A40067AA.jpeg

This one is way different for me. Friend asked me for a front pocket carry EDC, left side carry, sticks up so high from the pocket, textured handle, finger hook, thumb ramp...I'm thinking, bro, it's only 6" long. Turned out pretty good considering. First use of the Ulti-Clip...love it. I'm pretty sure I won't be accused of a culinary knife maker, but I made a few for my #1 bud and first cousin. 52100, African Blackwood over white G10. A 9" western chef, convex ground, a 6" boning knife, and a paring knife to his requested pattern. Typical garbage photography included at no charge. :)

..or a carpenter, and yet there it is. All in one package. Great work!

Are those really thick liners, or are they two colors of micarta on top of each other? They look good.
