Mason Knives

Well-Known Member

Had a break from slip joints and made these Un- folders, based on the Tear drop Jack pattern.
RWL-34 Steel
2 7/8" Blade
Antique green jigged bone, and Buffalo horn Scales
Tapered tangs
Hand Made Leather Sheaths.

Cheers

These are spectacular.

Call me crazy, dismiss my opinions as that of the unwashed masses- but I simply don't like shields and I don't like metal bolsters on fixed blade knives for the sake of having them. I'm not against them in the least. I simply feel they distract from the beauty of a knife by adding something that doesn't need to be. The Pieta doesn't need a gold plaque on the front.

These knives prove to me that I'm not crazy. They are stunning and the eye is not drawn away from the materials and the graceful lines by needless accoutrement.

Thanks Bladegrinder and John!

They make for a really useful knife, in the office or the kitchen. A pleasure to use in fact. A case of less is more!

Yes, I immediately thought of a bird's beak paring knife. But perfectly useful as a utility knife for any purpose.
