Finished this knife today. It is forged from a chunk of mystery steel, probably old drill rod or a shaft of some type. I HT'd like I do 5160 and it came out nice. The bolsters are from some wrought iron I bought from a mill demolition in Superior WI. The walnut is scrap from a gunstock project. The OAL is 11"-ish and 1/4" thick on the spine. I think all my knives end up being 1/4" thick because that is as far as I get before my arm falls off...plonk! The sheath is dyed with a combination of vinegaroon and Fiebing's "British Tan" dye. It looks so chocolatey I could almost eat it. The guy I'm making it for wanted his initial on the sheath so I used a antler crown and scratched a "S" into it. His last name is Kent so don't ask me why he wanted a "S".
