Here's one I just finished for a customer.

3/16" 1080, edge quenched
African Blackwood bolsters
Warthog Ivory scales
Tapered tang

Great knife--how did you get that warthog ivory so uniform and flat?? did you get lucky and come across a suitable piece or did you have to boil it--thanks-marekz

Thanks for the comments guys.

I used a whole tusk to cut the scales from. It was from a huge old boar.

I cut a rough flat spot on one side with my bandsaw (a bit tricky) , flattened it good on my disc sander, then cut a nice even slice with the bandsaw and sanded it flat on both sides. Then I cut another slice off doing it the same way.
 
Very beautiful knife.
The handle work is outstanding.
I also like the way the blade is shaped going from the back of the edge to the guard. That look is generally seen on hidden tangs. cool 1

Thank you Jim. I think warthog tusks are fairly easy to find for sale. I have seen them somewhere but I can't remember where just now. I have a friend that went hunting in Africa. He picked up several tusks off dead pigs while he was there.
