Wedding gift knife

A friend of mine is getting married in a week or two and I just finished this for him. It's a Smithwick hunter in 1080 steel with stainless bolsters, stabilized spalted Tasmanian Sassafras burl scales from Rob at Bad Dogs Burl Source, and rattlesnake skin inlays in the sheath. It's my first attempt at inlays; the next will be better. OAL is around 7.5", blade about 3.5". I hope you fellas like it.

Knife looks real good Travis. I really like the scales, they look good on that knife. The sheath is a little rough but real good for first try at inlays. Great job, your friend is going to love it.

The inlays were a bit of a challenge alright. I learned a lot in the process, and will do quite a number of things differently next time. Still, I think it went well enough that there will actually be a next time. Thanks for the feedback.

In the lower picture you can see the hamon. I did a clay quench and had some nice action, but didn't really try to develop it. I'm still working out how best to do that, and certainly haven't figured it out.
