A Gentleman contacted me recently wanting a set of 5 sgain dubh for his wedding party standing up in kilts in a wedding at the end of the month. Timing and cost led us to choose some blades from Atlantic Cutlery.
He had seen a knife I'd made with a Del Ealy blade and he wanted a similar carbon fiber construction and told me he was more interested in cool than perfect. Good thing considering the time frame.
The Blades
Wood cores drilled and carbon caps
"bolsters" inletted I the glued each end to the wood core before shaping (picture missed)
The handles rounded and covered with carbon sleeving. Sleeving is epoxied into place.
Kevlar (yellow) sleeving wrapped on blades, followed by a carbon sleeve:
I need to add some black leather turksheads and ship ASAP!
It is been a fun project, I hope the groom and all his men like them!
Thanks for looking,
-Todd
